About Us

Foodtruck Wars Street Festival is more than just food trucks!

The 5th Annual Foodtruck Wars Street Festival starts with their Kick-Off Event taking place on Thursday July 25th, 2019 from 6pm-10pm, with food trucks and beer garden providing food and beverages. The main festival is a family, pet, and environmentally friendly festival scheduled for July 26, 27, and 28, 2019. In 2018, over 25,000 festival goers joined us over the weekend. We are excited to announce that the Foodtruck Wars Street Festival will return to Riversdale and be held on 20th Street West between Avenue C and Avenue F.  Our great line-up of food trucks, food trailers, and food booths will offer a wide variety of food, dessert, and beverage choices throughout the festival.

The Riversdale Business District has experienced a real makeover in the past few years. We hope that while you are attending our festival you will also visit the many businesses located on and around 20th Street. We know that a number of the area businesses will be featuring Foodtruck Wars Street Festival in-store specials!

One of the highlights of the festival is the Foodtruck Wars Flavour Challenge. This event is a taste testing competition, with competing food vendors entering their favourite dessert, beverage, and entree items to be judged by our food loving panel of judges. Come and see which food vendor wins the bragging rights as Foodtruck Wars Flavour Champion for the 2019 season.

Other fan favourite events and features returning this year include: Hot Dog Havoc, Saskatoon’s only hot dog eating contest, Pie Me! pie eating contest, Beer Gardens, Bartari’s Video Game Lounge, a Street Vendors market, Strongman Power Lifting competitions, and street buskers.

An important segment of our free entertainment will include a number of cultural dances, music, and demonstrations. We want to highlight the cultural diversities that make up the Riversdale community district.

This year’s festival will include an expanded covered table seating area, larger pet watering station, a pet photo booth, hand washing stations, a secondary street busking location, a farmers market area, and a printed festival program.

We are pleased to announce Affinity Credit Union‘s continued partnership with Foodtruck Wars Street Festival to make the festival as environmentally sustainable as possible. This sponsorship is a perfect fit as our festival supports Affinity’s vision to build a better world and that means a greener world!

We would like to also extend a huge thank you to the Roxy Theatre, O’Brian’s Automotive, and the Riversdale Business Improvement District for the use of their parking lots for placement of: family fun zone, entertainment stage, and table seating. And of course, thank you to the City of Saskatoon for allowing street closures, which ultimately accommodates our festival site.

There are three other Riversdale partners that have joined us to help grow this festival, and at the same time help to promote and enhance the Riversdale area: Bartari Video Game Bar & Restaurant, North Star Trophies, and the Saskatoon Farmers’ Market. Bartari is offering free video gaming for all festival goers during Foodtruck Wars, please visit them at 511-20th Street West.

We are extremely excited to announce our partnership with the Saskatoon & District Lions Clubs. At Foodtruck Wars Street Festival, the Saskatoon & District Lions Clubs will be selling their Mega Cash Draw Raffle tickets. The proceeds from the raffle will go towards the construction of the Lions Centennial Park, an accessible park located in the Kensington area of Saskatoon.

We’re also happy to have Early’s Farm & Garden Centre sponsoring the Pet Watering Station and Pet Photo Booth this year, both free to festival goers.

Foodtruck Wars welcomes 92.9 The Bull FM as the festival’s Title Radio Media sponsor, Global Saskatoon as the festival’s Title Television Media sponsor and Your Saskatoon News as the Title Print Media sponsor! Their generous support and promotion will help to spread the word about our festival.
